What MetaTrader Administrators actually own

The MT4 / MT5 admin owns the live trading environment. That includes symbol and group configuration, swap and commission setup, leverage tiers, manager-side execution rules, plugin installation and bridge configuration to liquidity providers.

On the MT5 side it also covers backend reporting, custom server-side scripts and integration with risk and CRM systems. Brokers running hybrid B-book / A-book models lean heavily on the MT admin to keep the routing logic clean and auditable.

Stack expectations

Bridge / aggregator experience: Centroid, oneZero, PrimeXM, Brokeree, Match-Trader.

Comfort with SQL, basic scripting (MQL or Python) and Linux server administration.

Bonus: experience with CRM integrations (Skale, B2Core, FXBO) and KYC providers (Sumsub, Onfido).

FAQ

Common questions about mt4 / mt5 administrator jobs

Is this a developer role or operations?

Mostly operations with some scripting. Pure MQL / EA development sits under a separate "MetaTrader Developer" job family.

Can MT4 admins move into MT5?

Yes — most brokers actively want admins who have done both. MT5 work increasingly dominates new builds, but legacy MT4 estates still need maintenance.
